Mañihuales River Lodge


Just two hours north of Coyhaique, the city hosting the IUFRO Forest Environment Division 8 Conference 2026, Mañihuales River Lodge invites visitors to discover the authentic spirit of Patagonia. Nestled on the banks of the Mañihuales River, this lodge combines comfort, local cuisine, and breathtaking southern landscapes.


Designed for nature lovers and fly-fishing enthusiasts, it offers a unique guided fly-fishing experience led by professional trilingual guides (Spanish, English, French). Guests stay in elegant riverfront domes equipped with heating, private bathrooms, and all amenities for a relaxing stay surrounded by nature.


The service includes full-board accommodation, transfers from Balmaceda Airport, and personalized fishing assistance, ensuring a smooth and memorable experience before or after the conference in Coyhaique.

Included Services

  • Accommodation in comfortable domes (two people per dome), equipped with one double and one single bed.

  • Full board with all meals included.

Additional Information

  • Fish species: Brown trout, rainbow trout, and king salmon (Chinook).

  • Fishing type: Dry fly, nymph, and streamer fishing, both wading and from a boat.

  • Required skill level: Generally accessible, although constant wind requires good casting technique. (We offer a preparation course if desired.)

  • Optional boat fishing: On lake or river (drift boat). Additional cost applies.

  • Flights to and from Balmaceda (BBA).

  • Fishing equipment and consumables (rods, flies, waders, etc.).
